The Shaman
In many animistic cultures a Shaman is person regarded as having access to, and influence in a spiritual realm. Among many indigenous cultures around the world shamanism exists in one form or the other. They can also be regarded as mediators between humanity and the forces of nature. Typically such people enter a trance state during a ritual, and practice divination and healing, through magic and herbalism. The idea of shamanism has been heavily demonised around the world through colonialism. However most shamanistic cultures are advocates for peace and harmony with the natural world.
